ABYC to publish largest standards manual ever
The American Boat & Yacht Council (ABYC), the non-profit organization that develops global voluntary safety standards for the design, construction, maintenance and repair of pleasure boats, is set to release its largest supplement ever published on Technical Information Standards and Reports for Small Crafts. ABYC offers a
special pre-order sale until June 18 for the 2021-2022 manual, which will officially be released on August 1.
ABYC standards are continually researched, developed and revised by over 400 volunteer naval professionals on Project Technical Committees (PTCs). Every year, ABYC publishes its updated manual with new and revised safety standards, keeping abreast of the latest trends and technologies in the marine industry.
“PTC has had an active year in standards development and the virtual meetings allowed for broader international participation,” said Brian Goodwin, Technical Director of ABYC. “More than 20 revised documents are expected to be released this year, a great achievement by experts from all areas of the industry dedicated to the safety and enjoyment of boating. “
Highlights include the updated E-30, Electric Propulsion Systems, which discusses advancements in electric propulsion technology.
