Three people, including a child, were killed in three separate accidents in the Farmgate, Jatrabari and Kalshi areas of Dhaka.
Two of the crashes happened on Friday evening, while the third happened on Saturday, reports bdnews24.com.
A three-year-old boy named Sayem was run over and killed by a van in the Kalshi area around 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, Pallabi police station Parvez Islam said.
The accident happened next to a 22-story garment factory, near where the child’s family lived.
Sayem was with his father, who was butchering a chicken, when he ran down the road and was hit by the pickup.
He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.
Police seized the pickup, but the driver fled.
In another crash, motorcycle passengers Shaheedul Islam Nirob, 32, and Afzal Hossain, 30, were seriously injured when they were struck by a passenger bus on Friday evening, the police commander said. Tejgaon, Salahuddin Miah.
They were rescued and sent to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital, where medics declared Nirob dead.
Nirob was a cricketer and was originally from the Atibazar area in Keraniganj, the CO said.
