No Clues to Defendant Nagesh – The New Indian Express
BENGALURU: Even after a week since the 24-year-old woman was attacked with acid outside her workplace in Sunkadakatte, police are unable to get any clues about the 27-year-old accused, Nagesh. Seven police teams are looking for him. The woman was attacked with acid around 8.30am on April 28 after she apparently refused Nagesh’s marriage proposal.
The police questioned the accused’s family. Employees, who worked in the defendant’s garment factory, were also questioned. However, the police are still unable to make a breakthrough in the case. Since the day of the attack, the accused has turned off his mobile phone. He also did not attempt to carry out any banking transaction.
All of this led police to believe it was a meticulously planned attack. Nagesh’s uncle Krishnappa curses the defendants as they are regularly bothered by the police. “Even though he was my relative, we had almost no connection. He never came to our house. He moved to the city about 10 years ago and worked before starting his own clothing business. In order to destroy the life of the innocent, he even closed his business. The police call us every day. We are just frustrated,” Krishnappa said.
