Secretary Buttigieg to join AEM and Punchbowl News to discuss infrastructure
US Department of Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg to join Association of Equipment Manufacturers and Punchbowl news at Tuesday, May 4 at 11:30 a.m.ET for a virtual event discussing President Biden American employment plan and the current debate in Washington on the potential of radical infrastructure legislation in 2021. The event will also feature a discussion between Punchbowl news founders Anna Palmer and Jake Sherman and AEM Infrastructure vision 2050 Intervention force Vice President and Husco CEO Austin Ramirez about what equipment manufacturers want to see included in a complete infrastructure package. The conversation will address the need for bipartisanship, as well as the efforts of the equipment manufacturing industry to advance a forward-looking national vision of how to build modern, sustainable, and equitable infrastructure for all Americans.
The event occurs a little over two weeks after Ramirez joined the Brookings Institution by launching the new report Rebuilding with Purpose: An Affirmative Vision for 21st Century American Infrastructure, and will take place fair days before the start of “Infrastructure Week”, Which one is program for May 10-14. Rebuild with a purpose was made possible by vital funding the Association of Equipment Manufacturers, which also announced its commitment to a set of national policy priorities to revitalize the infrastructure systems that move the US economy.
