Truck in the back, one killed, one injured

KANCHANABURI: A car slammed into the back of a truck while waiting to turn around, killing its driver and passenger in Muang District on Tuesday, police said.
Pol Capt Sakul Iamboonlue, an investigator from Muang Police Station, said the crash happened around 8:30 a.m. at kilometer 10 on a bypass at tambon Tha Kham.
As a six-wheeled Hino truck was stationary as the driver waited to turn around, a Toyota Corolla car slammed into its rear. The heavy impact tore off the roof of the car and sent the crashed vehicle into the roadside ditch.
The driver, Pakorn Sonsa-nguan, 22, from Phra Phutthabat district, Saraburi, died while driving. His friend, Saiyut Lampong, 28, from Pak Kret district in Nonthaburi, was seriously injured.
Truck driver Prachuap Kongka, 49, said he delivered electrical appliances from Bangkok to a department store in Kanchanaburi city.
The police were examining the footage from the security cameras.
